Nerd Night round 2!! After the outrageous success of our first Nerd Night of the season, we are pleased to bring you another evening of knowledge on tap brought to you by Laura Pascoe. Read the description below!
Getting Cliterate: An exploration into the little known truths
and buried pleasures of the clitoris.
The full extent of the clitoris and all her intricacies are often misrepresented, inadequately addressed, or downright absent. Neglecting this important sexual organ has implications for sexual health, sexuality education, gender equality as well as intimacy, self-knowledge and self-confidence. This talk will explore what we know about the clitoris, how she works, why her capacities and needs are too often side lined, and why sexual pleasure is so important.
Laura is a feminist, activist, practitioner, and scholar who received her PhD in Geography from the University of California at Davis. Her work focuses on gender justice and sexual and reproductive health and rights. Currently, she works as a consultant for universities and NGOs, including UNAIDS and WHO, and is also a labour and childbirth doula.
Gonna be a good one!! Hope to see you there 🙂

Queen’s Helping Haiti presents:
The Kents with The Wilderness and Pala
The Kents are a young band from Lindsay, Ontario that have had their catchy, alternative rock hooks compared to Arkells, Hollerado and The Killers
Formed in 2014, The Kents is comprised of Warren Frank (vocals), Freddy Kwon (guitar), Luke Shauf (bass) and Tanner Paré (drums).
Waking EP, produced by Derek Hoffman (The Elwins, DCF) at Fox Sounds in Toronto with mastering from Dan Weston (Shad, City And Colour), encapsulates lyrical explorations of family, loss and separation from the comfort of adolescence with a hook-hungry, pop filter that controls the chaos.
Their debut single, The Stakes, was featured on the iTunes’ New Artist Spotlight, Spotify’s Best of 2016 Viral Hits, Hockey Night in Canada, Canada’s Walk Of Fame Emerging Artist finalist and earned radio support from CBC including George Stroumboulopoulos and various other regional, national stations. They’ve also shared the stage for sold-out shows with The Trews, The Strumbellas, The Elwins and Hollerado.
*All proceeds to Queen’s Helping Haiti, supporting a grass roots Cité Soleil based organization providing medical care using funds raised here in Kingston. All money goes towards medical equipment and wages for the local workers! To learn more check out:
